Yesterday and this morning
Scott ran out of hours at a rest area in the middle of the day and needed 9 hours to reset. Was trying to sleep but said it was 90 degrees with 190% humidity. I told him to find a nice piece of grass and lay down. He said there was a nice piece of grass right in front of the truck under 4 inches or water. Guess he will sit in the truck. He has discovered he lover Tom Clancy wants me to pick some of his books up. I already have at least 1 so am set so far. Anyway that was yesterday.
Today he is on his way back to Dallas. Again with the new truck hope I hope anyway. He is very unhappy with his PC Miler but wants me to look up some stuff and see if there was a satisfaction guaranteed clause because right now he is lost because according to him and dispatch it took him off course. So need to understand how to set up according to dispatch and it keeps saying no such address probably need some type of new updated expensive software to make it work correctly. Okay I am cynical today so will shut up. BYE

Spending time in Kansas
He took off from Dallas for Kansas, delivered his load, sat and sat and sat. BORED and depressed. Then got another trailer to drop and then another and now is headed for Oklahoma City. Says it is raining really hard again. Don't think he is loving his job right now. HE says he misses everybody and wishes he had seen more people when he was home last. Wants me to check Hooker Creek and Knife River for jobs. Better do that today.

Another SCARY incident
So Scott is driving in this horribly, unbelievably, intense thunderstorm in Dallas/Fort Worth area and he messes up on a turn and hits a light pole. He breaks off the button for the pedestrians to push and the shroud over the light. Calls me, oops I just probably jeopardized my job. Calls the cops, risk management and his dispatch. Cop comes out, happens all the time thanks for calling, no ticket. Risk management and dispatch tell him to get his butt going towards Louisiana. Dispatch called back said return to Dallas. Scott calls oops sorry dear! They had decided that he would not make it on time, damn, so a husband and wife team took over the load. So as he is thinking he is going to get fired I keep telling him that he is going to get one of the new trucks to pick his out. KEEP THE CHIN UP. He called this morning is on his way to Kansas with a load for tomorrow morning. I said what no new truck. He said AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MY OLD ONE! Good point dear. Anyway here are some pictures of a monument that he took the day before but just sent yesterday and this morning.

This is a memorial to Henry B Joy the first president of the LINCOLN Hwy Association who had the vision to dream of an improved highway from coast to coast. Looks impressive though my computer hated how dark they were but Tina says my computer sees pictures darker than others. So if I am making these too light let me know.

Headed for Louisana
He is headed for Sulpher LA with a load to drop on Sunday. He is hoping this will lead to a stop in Dallas TX which is where all he new trucks are. Frieghtliner I think. Anyway he is hoping. Got his load early as was delivered early. Course it was delivered by the time he got there and he spent an hour waiting before he realized that it might be in the yard and got out to check. But during that hour he resolved some of the issues he and his PC Miler are having with each other. Like it is going to change, no. He has decided that when he wants to stop at a truck stop he just puts it to sleep until he is on the road that it wants so that it does not his words "freak out on him and freeze". So I think by the time he gets home again they will be friends. All he really has to do is program the stop in before he gets there and then it would show him the best way to head, but that may be too difficult for now. He says he took more pictures but has not sent them through yet. I had no idea he did not know how to save them before so was sending them as he took them. He now is technically advanced enough to save and send when he gets stopped somewhere.

Yep this looks like it pretty much takes him right through Dallas/Fort Worth TX. New truck and new land to explore sounds like to me. Well he just called again wanting to know what time it was. His watch is messed up because he changed something when he was here or something. Anyway says he is still in Colorado but boogeying on down.

OKAY THIS IS EXCITING
Scott just heard from Curtis asking if he was legal to go into Canada. RUMOR has it that I think it was JB Hunt or was it Schneider is giving up their Canada business and Werner is picking it up. So thinks he should get a new legal for Canada truck soon and be on another exciting journey.
Pictures He took today.
Klammath Falls to Laramie Wyoming
The powers that be decided that he would come back up to Bend head over 20 to Ontario and then Laramie. He decided that he could make Ontario. Was low on fuel and asked to use the truck stop he was at and found out that the one that was 12 miles down the road was okay fine. He put 202 gallons in a 200 gallon tank so was cutting it quite close.
When he went by horse ridge said it was snowing awfully bad but not covering the road too bad. Has already passed Boise this morning and is heading east. Hopes that since he is just dropping and someone else is picking up the load that they are planning to run him on the west coast, yeah right, has put in for Memorial Day and been approved but not guaranteed.

OFF and RUNNING again!
He got up early this morning and packed the truck, went out around 6 am and said I am ready for a load. Came in at 6:44 and was on his way to Klammath Falls and then Iowa. Okay bye bye. Called about 8:30 had made several mistakes the biggest in my eyes that fact that he does not have to pick up his load in Klammath Falls until 4 pm today. So being the bitch that I am I am assuming that he was so excited to get away from home and me that he just forgot that detail. Then next oops was he had the keys to the Ford and the Jeep but in finding the extra sets I found the extra for the CADDY so that was a good mistake. And he was going to get the blue tooth hooked up this time but he forgot. So is without it again. But he is on his way. He says the way he is reading this they want him to go from Klammath Falls back up 396 to 20 and out to Ontario so figures he will see lots of empty space.
He said he was going to put in for time home for Memorial Day weekend hope he does. That will only be 4 weeks of me being the inadequate substitute. But that should be a fairly busy time for me and should just fly.

Nice bugs huh? This is some beautiful historic bridge from the looks of it. He told me I forgot.
He is on his way west. Got his truck out of shop last night and actually got to sleep in it. Got up at 4:30 this morning and picked up his load and is headed home ETA sometime Sunday. Sounds excited. I know I am.

Well he was on his way home!
So they started him home. He took a load to Beatrice NE, then they wanted him to pick up a load in Omaha, routed him to the terminal. AND THERE HE SITS. They say that he has a leak in something or the other and his hood would not open for them this morning. So they say they might get to it tomorrow, GRRRRR!. He also has to go to SAFETY to see if there are any issues he needs to address. So he probably has lost his load which was bound for Springfield OREGON. So will know more later but looks like he definitely will not be home to ride Saturday.
Now the question is do I have the right or the knowledge to go camping basically by myself. I would have to figure out how to test the trailer system for leaks as he (Tina) replaced the water pump or rerouted it or something. I would have to figure out how to light the appliances, unless I ate cold out of an ice chest---HMM! Then the only problems would be unloading 4-wheelers as Allice says she is not going to be there until Saturday and neither would Tina if she decided to come down. Oh and the little problem of backing up the trailer if I had to to park it, yeah forgot that part. Anyway should make up my mind today whether he can explain things good enough for me to do it. Should save the money for the move but we will see. Maybe Tina and I will just run down on Saturday too. I hate decisions and I have so many to make now a days.
Anyway will find out if and when he gets to come home sometime today probably as soon as I hit post on this LOL.

No Safety Call
Scott has been running around with loads all day and nobody has told him to come see Safety so guess he made it. He just called and it is cold. As a change he is in 37 degree weather and ours is 71 degrees. So he is pouting. Anyway wanted to know for sure what temperature was saying as he was freezing and wanted to idle the truck to get it warm in there before he went to sleep but gets in trouble if it is over 40 so he was going to start it. It is supposed to get up to a booming 45 around there tomorrow. What a change. Anyway there are all kind of freeze warnings and will probably lose their crops or something bad like that.
I am glad it is not freezing here hard. I have flowers in my front yard and they are alive so hope that lasts another day or two. OLD BLACK THUMBS sure can not grow things. Maybe Tina will have some influence on them.

Drove down Elliott Family Lane in Dawsonville
Anybody that knows NASCAR knows awesome Bill from Dawsonville and today taking back roads suggested by another driver Scott drove down their lane. So cool. Bet he did not take pictures. He seems to forget I like pictures, but oh well. He then was hurrying and put his trailer in a ditch on a driveway into a place to turn around because he thought he was on the wrong road later yesterday. Smart mouth called and asked me if his Mom has enough money for a plane ticket so now I have to worry all weekend until they call him in for safety Monday, Tuesday or whenever. He has already decided in his own mind that it is no big deal. Guess I should just not think about it either.
Today he is the only one in the TV room at the truck stop so he is going to watch the Busch Race or whatever their name is now. It is so pretty I think I will find something to do outside, maybe go for a ride or something in the jeep. Maybe go over and buy stuff for replanting the yard and doing the floor in the kitchen, utility area, maybe crawl under the house and fix my ice maker. I am feeling empowered by the SUN. It is a good feeling.

In Passing
Guess whose car haulers just passed Scott:
Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. He just called to tell me then had to get off the phone because he is maneuvering on an 8 lane freeway and trying to find his place. He now officially for 2 weeks in driving for Home Depot in Atlanta Georgia on a dedicated run. Meaning he is having about 3-4 runs a day, pick it up shuffle it around pick up another one. It is work. Hoping it pays.

Still In Georgia
Got rather lost today but found a place to park the truck at the last minute, in a chamber of commerce parking lot that said no parking--that's my guy.
He made it to his first drop this morning an hour early, then tried to follow their CallQuam directions to second drop, got lost, found them picked up the trailer, got lost and will make the drop on time tomorrow he hopes but is sitting where he is unwanted but he figures they are closed and he will be gone before they wake. Anyway he took pictures.
This first I am pretty sure is in Texas!

Thus was last night when he first stopped in Georgia! Seems to be pretty nice back there for this time of year!

Then these 2 were on his way after he got lost and found himself sometime today!
That is what I remember most about the south. Look at the shoulders on the road, nonexistant!

And here he is getting so brave he is taking pictures and even on a freeway there is a car passing him on this itsy bitsy road. Check the mirror.

But it is gorgeous and I am jealous. He said he could see his breath this morning down there. I told him I could see mine in the house with the heater on! He was complaining of cold and it was 24 here. But today did get nice eventually. I love Central Oregon.
FORGOT TO STATE THESE WERE TAKEN WITH OUR NEW GZONE PHONES! Go VERIZON! Except we so far have not had any better coverage on the back roads but oh well we love our phones.
